Doctor Larry Wendell Carter, Sr. is a Preacher of the Word, a craftsman, a musician, and a singer. Presently, he is the Senior Pastor of the Household of Faith World Outreach Center, Inc., Fayetteville, North Carolina.
He was born in Cumberland County and attended the county public schools. Upon graduating from Armstrong High School in 1969, he attended and graduated from Harris Barber College in Raleigh, North Carolina and began his career as a barber at Newman's Barber Shop. After a brief period as a Barber, he was hired by Kelly Springfield Tire Company and was employed there for thirty-five years before retiring in July 2006.
His spiritual life began during his childhood years where he became a member of Locks Creek A. M. E. Zion Church at the age of thirteen. He remained faithful to his church until he became hungry and thirsty for more of the Word. He later moved his membership to St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he enrolled in many Bible Study classes which he continued to study during the name change of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church to Household of Faith World Outreach Center, Inc. Pastor Carter continued studying the Word of God and enrolled in Full Gospel Bible College in which the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity was conferred upon him.
Pastor Carter teaches a simple, but in a humorous manner, truth from God's Word. His heart's desire is to reach all and teach about Jesus Christ. His goal is to unite and not divide the body of Christ (Eph. 4:13).
Pastor Carter and his wife, Minister Annie Delores Bell Carter, have been married for thirty-eight years. They have three children: Larry Wendell, Jr., Dwayne Keith, and Tonya Carter and one grandson: Wynston Carter. Together Pastor and Minister Carter have dedicated their live to help build the Body of Christ.
